Healthy Plymouth became a Mass in Motion community in 2012, and is a recognized community leader for its commitment to raising healthy youth, engaging its seniors and fostering a thriving intergenerational culture of health and wellbeing. Healthy Plymouth is committed to improving and expanding parks and trails get residents moving more. In addition, Plymouth recently created its first “Complete Street” on Obery Street.
Plymouth also promotes increased access to locally grown fruits and vegetables through the Healthy Markets Initiative, and is working closely with schools to successfully implement the new school nutrition standards. Plymouth is also creating safer routes for children to walk and bike to school, so that they have a safe way to be active and show up to school ready to learn.
