The Massachusetts Association of Community Health Workers (MACHW) is the statewide professional association for CHWs. It was founded in 2000 and has a growing membership of CHWs and supporters. MACHW's mission is to: strengthen the professional identity of community health workers (CHWs); foster leadership among CHWs; and promote the integration of CHWs into the health care, public health and human service workforce. To do this, MACHW conducts education, research, policy development, and advocacy throughout the state. To find out more about MACHW, please visit their website at http://www.machw.org
