Mission and Goals
The Nutrition Division works to eradicate food insecurity and poor health. Nutrition Division programs help ensure that all families have the healthy foods they need, and the knowledge, resources and care necessary to live the healthy lives they deserve.
The Nutrition Division goals are to:
- Influence and improve lifetime nutrition and health behaviors of populations targeted by the major programmatic units of the Division.
- Support and complement the Department's priorities of reducing infant deaths, improving health outcomes, and reducing health risks by promoting positive nutritional behaviors and healthy weights.
- Breastfeeding Initiative
- Folic Acid Campaign
- Growth and Nutrition Program
- Nutrition Board
- Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program
