Foodborne Illness

  • Overview of Food Safety

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that there are 76,000,000 cases of foodborne illness (also referred to as food poisoning) in the United States each year. Most of these cases do not result in serious illness, but some people will be hospitalized and some will die. Even non-serious illness can result in discomfort, inconvenience and economic loss.
