Educational Information and Resources

MDPH has developed a variety of educational materials on Lyme disease and other diseases spread by ticks. All materials developed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health are available free of charge. Any materials not available through this website may be obtained by calling the Division of Epidemiology and Immunization at 617-983-6800.

Brochures and Documents

Preventing Disease Spread by Ticks (PDF) 
This eight-page, color brochure, developed by MDPH, provides information on ticks, diseases transmitted by ticks, how to protect yourself from tick bites, how to reduce tick populations around a home, how to remove an attached tick and information on repellents. To request a copy of the brochure, please call the Division of Epidemiology and Immunization at (617) 983-6800. To print as a booklet, print double-sided.

Gardening Tips - Don't let the bugs bite! (PDF) 
This two-page document provides information for gardeners on how to avoid being bitten by ticks and mosquitoes while gardening as well as a list of MDPH educational materials on tickborne and mosquito - borne diseases.
