The Bureau of Substance Abuse Services' (BSAS) Alcohol and Drug Counselor Licensing Unit is responsible for licensure of alcohol and drug counselors under 105 CMR 168.000. The Unit receives and processes all counselor licensing applications and renewals and works closely with applicants throughout the licensing process. Unit staff is available to licensees and the general public in order to provide technical assistance, verify license status and to investigate complaints against licensed counselors.
