"One cannot consent to creep when one feels the impulse to soar."
– Helen Keller
As one of the original Commissioners, Helen Keller was instrumental in launching and setting the philosophy of the first Commission for the Blind in the United States.
Established in 1906, the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind continues to build on its mission of providing the highest quality rehabilitation and social services leading to independence, and economic self-sufficiency through employment, and full community inclusion for the blind.
It is with great pride and inspiration that I welcome you to the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind web site.
We hope that this information will lead you to agency programs and services that will empower you or someone you know to take the steps to soar.
If you have any questions or comments, please send an email to mcbinfo@mcb.state.ma.us.
Sincerely,
Janet LaBreck
