The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (Board) announces that it will publish its Electronic Newsletter beginning January 2006.
Outreach to and communication with licensed nurses and the public is one of the Board's top strategic initiatives. In August 2005, the Board approved the development and publishing of an alternative to the traditional newsletter. It selected cyberspace as the medium of choice to communicate with all stakeholders. A web-based newsletter will maximize accessibility and convenience and will allow the Board to share its latest news as they happen.
In ongoing efforts to improve the quality of its services, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health-Division of Health Professions Licensure recently overhauled their websites. Introduced this past fall, the Board's website has been redesigned with the customer in mind and with ease of access to information as the primary objective. Changes in the website presented the perfect opportunity for the Board to create an electronic newsletter.
The electronic Board newsletter will be published quarterly and will contain essential information about Board related activities. The inaugural edition will be available January 2006 and will be located at the "Newsletter" portal on the Boards website. Look for it and all other Board information and services at www.mass.gov/dph/boards/rn.
