Effective January 1, 2014, MAXIMUS’ MassHealth Customer Service Center (CSC) will assume direct responsibility for Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services (HPES) functions. This document outlines important changes involved with the two–week transition process that begins on December 16.
- The POSC opened on May 26, 2009. It offers a Web-based environment that automates functions such as member eligibility verification, claim submission and status, claims processing, prior authorization, referrals, preadmission screening, online remittance advices, and reports.
- Since this document was published, Congress passed the health care extender bill H.R. 3668 which, among other things, delays by six months the implementation of the tamper-resistant prescription law, scheduled to go into effect on October 1, 2007. Due to this new legislation, MassHealth will not require tamper-resistant prescriptions until the federal requirements become effective on April 1, 2008.
