Statement from Commissioner Auerbach on Forensic Lab Investigation

BOSTON – The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) released today a statement from Commissioner John Auerbach regarding the forensic lab investigation:

“The Department immediately launched a review upon learning about these new, disturbing allegations. We are closely examining the circumstances surrounding this chemist’s case as well as our processes in the forensic drug laboratory.  We placed the division director responsible for the forensic laboratory’s management during the period in question on leave pending the outcome of the Attorney General’s investigation. We continue to fully cooperate with investigators and will provide them with the results of our internal findings as soon as possible.”
