Statement from Commissioner Auerbach on Forensic Lab Investigation

BOSTON — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) released today a statement from Commissioner John Auerbach regarding the forensic lab investigation:

"The allegations stemming from the initial findings of the State Police and Attorney General’s investigation are deeply disturbing. The Department of Public Health will continue to cooperate fully with investigators to determine the extent of the potential wrongdoing. The Department is also reviewing our policies and procedures and will take appropriate administrative actions as we conduct that review. Today, I placed the division director previously responsible for the lab's management and oversight on leave pending the outcome of both the State Police investigation and our internal review."
