This collaborative effort assists small and medium-sized businesses apply worksite-based initiatives that prevent and manage chronic disease. Health conditions including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, asthma, cancer and obesity; along with health risk factors such as hypertension, high cholesterol, poor nutrition, physical inactivity and tobacco use are addressed through this initiative. The overall goal is to have a healthier work force. The initiative is a collaboration between the MDPH Wellness Unit, the Diabetes Prevention and Control Program (DPCP) , Healthy Aging and Disability Unit , and the Massachusetts Tobacco Cessation & Prevention Program .
