DTA Partnership adds NE Aquarium

February 21, 2017

The Department of Transitional Assistance Adds New England Aquarium to its Partnership Program.

BOSTON – The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) announced today that the New England Aquarium joined the list of more than a dozen top educational and cultural institutions statewide that offer free or reduced access.

DTA’s Cultural Partnerships provides individuals and families an opportunity to visit partnering institutions for a reduced rate and provides a family receiving benefits the opportunity to access many of the state’s best exhibits and educational experiences.

“Learning extends beyond the classroom, which is why we owe a huge debt to the many organizations that have come forward to offer discounted rates to DTA clients,” said DTA Commissioner Jeff McCue. “When children have the opportunity to learn and parents are able to enrich their child’s life with new experiences the possibilities are endless. As February school vacation approaches I would encourage all DTA clients to take advantage of these opportunities.”

DTA has partnered with many museums and cultural institutions across the state to ensure admission is accessible to low-income families. Thirteen educational and cultural organizations across the state have volunteered special admission rates to ensure these educational opportunities are accessible to all who wish to access them.

Most recently, the New England Aquarium joined DTA’s museum partners offering $2 admission for up to four people. Each organization that offers discounts sets their own rates, but in each instance a DTA client must present their EBT card at the ticket counter to receive the discount.
