Investigators Looking for Public’s Help in Lawrence Fire

State and local fire investigators are asking for the public’s help as they investigate an overnight fire in a brick warehouse building at 220 Canal Street, Lawrence. Investigators have determined that the fire started on the exterior under an overhang. The cause of the fire is human action, but whether the intent was to burn down the building or a result of some other activity such as stealing building materials, is unknown.

The fire is being jointly investigated by the Lawrence Fire and Police Departments and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
