Planning is underway for the 2010 Firefighter of the Year event. Information and nomination forms have already been electronically mailed to heads of fire departments and are also included in July DFS Briefs. Reminder that nominations must be made by the head of the fire department, and the deadline for submission of nomination forms is August 20, 2010.
Also included in this month's Briefs is information on the homeless shelter regulation, re-issue of an advisory regarding temporary housing at traveling carnivals and circuses, information for first responders to raise awareness of chemical suicides, information and the registration package for the DFS Annual Weekend at the National Fire Academy, as well as other informational and educational material.
