April 2011 DFS - Briefs - Monthly Updates from the Department of Fire Services

Mark your calendars - Planning is underway for a formal dedication event for the newly renovated/expanded DFS facility in Stow. The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 11, 2011, from approximately 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include an open house and self-guided tours, static displays and demonstrations, a parade of fire apparatus

representing different eras, the formal dedication and the speaking program. DFS is looking for firefighting apparatus to take part in the parade. See the flyer in this month's DFS Briefs for further information. With the project starting in August of 2007, this formal dedication event is the culmination of 3+ years of transition.

Also included in the April DFS Briefs is an advisory on dust explosion hazards and important and extensive information from OSHA, information on upcoming training programs, and an informational flyer on "Preventing Electrical Fires at Home".
