|CROWD MANAGER - IMPORTANT - The Board of Fire Prevention Regulations has voted to extend the date by which a trained "crowd manager" must be present in a nightclub, dance hall, discotheque and bar establishment with a capacity of 100 persons or more. The effective date for the requirement to complete the fire and building safety checklist was similarly extended.|
The original March 1, 2011 effective date will be extended to June 1, 2011. DFS is currently in the process of formalizing this date change in 527 CMR. This extension was made at the request of the Department of Fire Services as a result of last minute program issues and the desire give a reasonable period time to comply with this very important public safety initiative.
