March 2012 - DFS Briefs

Included in this month's DFS Briefs are copies of the newly adopted 527 CMR 33.00 regulation regarding Hazardous Material Processing and 527 CMR 38.00 which regulates movie and television production activities. Also included are additional recent amendments to 527 CMR, and MFIRS system changes that were effective January 1, 2012.

The Hazardous Material Processing regulation (527 CMR 33.00) was developed as the result of several explosions within the state and is a first in the country. There will be more information posted to our web site during the implementation stage and DFS will be delivering a training program this spring for both the regulated community and the regulators.

In addition, the March DFS Briefs contains public safety information on smoke alarms and lighter safety, as well as upcoming training opportunities.

Please be sure to avail yourself to all of the important information contained in the March DFS Briefs.
