The September DFS Briefs contains information about the initial offerings of the full Fire Prevention Officer – Level I training programs that will begin in September and October. In addition to the full program, four additional offerings of the Fire Prevention Officer – Level I Bridge program have been scheduled.
Other upcoming trainings include Wildfire Air Operations, Fire Mobilization for Ambulance Task Force Leaders, Public Fire and Life Safety Educators, From Battlefield to Street: One Uniform to Another, and Individual Crisis Intervention and Peer Support/Group Crisis Intervention.
Also in the Briefs is an informational brochure with recommendations for making Corn Mazes in your community safe for everyone, and Halloween Safety Tips.
As previously announced, beginning with the fall semester the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy will be moving to the electronic delivery of student materials for the majority of its programs. Please reference the memo included in the Briefs for additional information.
Remember that October 7-13 is Fire Prevention Week. This year’s theme, “Have 2 Ways Out!” reminds us how important it is to have two ways out of every building we are in – especially our homes, where most fires take place.
Please be sure to avail yourself to all of the important information contained in the September DFS Briefs.
