Beat the Beep Large Image

This winter, the Department of Fire Services will be rolling out our Beat the Beep campaign.  The purpose of this campaign is to alert residents and first responders that CO alarms may be reaching the end of their lifecycles and should be replaced BEFORE the beeps indicating end of life.

In the aftermath of the tragedy in Newtown, CT, I am issuing a reminder on school safety.  Also in this month’s issue you will find a complaint form for hood cleaning work, information on the YouTube Burn Awareness Contest, as well as important training opportunities.

I also want to remind you of the on-going Firefighter Service Award Program.  In this month’s Briefs, you will find information and forms.

Please be sure to avail yourself to all the important information contained in the January 2013 DFS Briefs.
