At the September 5, 2002 meeting of the Board of Fire Prevention Regulations, the following code interpretation was discussed and voted upon:

Q: Are six-pound LPG cylinders used in the plumbing industry for soldering exempt from the OPD requirement?

A: No, only LPG cylinders used in industrial truck service, including forklift truck cylinders and cylinders identified and used for welding and cutting gases are exempt.
