Re: Elevators and Sprinklers

Attached pdf format of ber.pdf
is information from the Board of Elevator Regulations regarding shunt trip circuit breakers and automatic sprinklers. A question has now arisen regarding detection equipment within the machine rooms and shafts. In our discussions with a representative of the Board of Elevator Regulations, it was indicated that these detection systems can remain in place as long as the shunt trip breaker has been removed, deactivated or disconnected. If one of these steps has been completed, the detection system may remain in place and it will still activate an alarm condition for the building.
