Mass. National Guard and Mass. Department of Correction make Thanksgiving Donation

Milford (November 17, 2011) --  Massachusetts National Guard Adjutant General Joseph C. Carter joined Luis S. Spencer, Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Correction, and Salvation Army Envoy in Charge David Irwin in the annual donation of  50 turkeys to the Milford Corps of the Salvation Army.  The Salvation Army distributes the turkeys to the Milford community.

“We look forward to giving something back to Milford each year,” said Adjutant General Carter.

The turkey donation has become an annual effort by the National Guard and the DOC as a means of giving something back to the Milford community, which serves as headquarters for both the National Guard and the Department of Correction.

“It is how we choose to share the spirit of Thanksgiving with our host community,” said Commissioner Spencer.

The 50 turkey donation took place on November 17 at the Maple Street, Milford headquarters of the National Guard and the DOC.
