Mass. Dept. of Correction Recognizes Staff Achievements

MILFORD (November 2, 2012)—The Massachusetts Department of Correction (DOC) recognized over 50 employees at its annual DOC 2012 Beyond Excellence Awards Ceremony held November 2, 2012.  DOC staff was recognized for their innovation which led to streamlined operations, reduced expenses, and improved care and custody of inmates and the safety of staff illustrating the very best in public service during 2011.  In addition, the Massachusetts State Police received the Innovations in Public Safety Partnership Award for its work with the DOC in keeping the public safe.  Col. Timothy P. Alben, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police, accepted the award.

 

 Their achievements were highlighted by DOC Commissioner Luis S. Spencer, Public Safety Secretary Mary Elizabeth Heffernan, and Criminal Justice Undersecretary Sandra M. McCroom .
