Mass. National Guard and Mass. Department of Correction make Thanksgiving Donation
Milford (November 15, 2012) -- Massachusetts National Guard Master Sgt. Denise Cahalane joined Paul L. DiPaolo, Deputy Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Correction, and Salvation Army Envoy in Charge David Irwin in the annual donation of 50 turkeys to the Milford Corps of the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army distributes the turkeys to the Milford community.
“We look forward to giving something back to Milford each year,” said Master Sgt. Denise Cahalane .
The turkey donation has become an annual effort by the Massachusetts National Guard and the DOC as a means of giving something back to the Milford community, which houses both the National Guard and the Department of Correction.
“It is how we choose to share the spirit of Thanksgiving with our community,” said Deputy Commissioner DiPaolo.
The 50 turkey donation took place on November 15 at Maple Street, Milford, which houses the National Guard and the DOC.
The Milford Corps of the Salvation Army distributes meals to local residents at Thanksgiving.
