The Massachusetts Department of Correction celebrated the graduation of its 310th recruit class on February 24, 2012 at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. The 310th graduating class had 212 corrections professionals, including 200 Correction Officers and 12 Correction Program Officers.
The 212 member class has completed a 12 week recruit training program structured to balance contemporary instructional strategies and traditional military drill protocols to prepare recruits to successfully work in correctional institutions.
DOC Commissioner Luis S. Spencer administered the oath of office. DOC Deputy Commissioner Peter A. Pepe, Jr. gave the keynote speech. Criminal Justice Undersecretary Sandra McCroom congratulated the class and presented closing remarks.
