The Department of Public Safety announces the retirement of State Elevator Inspector Pat Coyle.

Inspector Pat Coyle joined the Department in 1997 as a State Elevator Inspector. In this position, Pat worked hard to work with companies and to bring elevator into compliance. Because of his hard work, professionalism and experience, in 2000, he was promoted to Technical Code Coordinator / Supervising State Elevator Inspector. In that capacity, he served on the Board of Elevator Regulations as the designee for the Chief of Inspections - Mechanical. He also became the person through whom all elevator appeals were processed.

His code knowledge and professional experience assisted him in developing an excellent Department training program for state inspectors that also provided them with hours of continuing education that well exceed the requirements for license renewal. His personal efforts have forever changed the Department in a positive manner.

On June 9, 2008, Pat was awarded a citation on behalf of the Governor for his dedicated work with the Department and the United States Air Force.

Please join Commissioner Gatzunis in wishing Patrick Coyle, Supervising State Elevator Supervisor, a fond farewell and good luck on his retirement
