The Department of Public Safety (Department), in conjunction with NAARSO, will offer its Semi-annual Massachusetts Amusement Device Safety Seminar during the week of March 7 through 11, 2011. The seminar will be held at the Taunton Holiday Inn and Conference Center. Among other things, the seminar will address lock-out\tag-out procedures, welding and NDT inspections, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems and inspections. Additionally, the commonwealth will offer certified maintenance mechanic exams and NAARSO certification exams will be available to attendees.
The seminar is designed to assist building, engineering, and amusement industry inspectors as well as other interested parties to better understand safety requirements as established by commonwealth, national and industry standards. Amusement device safety is a serious responsibility and a Department priority. With this seminar, the Department intends to continue the tradition of offering the best training possible to prepare inspection staff and industry professionals for the coming season in order to ensure patron safety.
