The purpose of the Massachusetts Hazardous Materials Annex is to ensure situational awareness and outline the operational activities surrounding a state response to a Level 2 or 3 HazMat incident. This annex details the Commonwealth’s strategy with respect to planning and response to a hazardous materials incident. This annex contains information on the state hazardous materials response teams and their deployment mechanism. It may also serve as a resource to community incident commanders when making decisions related to an appropriate and measured response.
