Mr. Walsh meets with members of the MSP Marine Section


John Walsh, host of the popular television series "America's Most Wanted" and a longtime supporter of law enforcement agencies across the country, was given a tour of a variety of Massachusetts State Police assets on Tuesday, Aug. 3.

Mr. Walsh and his production crew were given an up-close look at several tactical units, including the K-9 Section, which demonstrated its contraband detection capabilities.

In the top photo, Trooper Keith Pantazelos and Rocky welcome Mr. Walsh to Boston. In the bottom photo, Mr. Walsh speak to Major Richard Prior, deputy division commander, Division of Field Services, aboard an MSP Marine Section boat.

During their visit, "America's Most Wanted" interviewed Major Prior about the department's homeland security duties. The show also interviewed Sgt. Michael Farley, commander of the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, about the Department's success in capturing violent criminals. A current VFAS target was also highlighted. The segments were scheduled to be aired on the popular FOX program on Saturday, Aug. 14.

Mr. Walsh's visit with the MSP followed his remarks at the National Association of Fugitive Investigators annual conference in Boston. Also addressing the conference, held at the Omni Parker House in Boston, was Colonel Marian J. McGovern, who welcomed fugitive investigators from across the country.
