State Police Arrest Mattapan Man for Gun Possession on Route 93 in Braintree H-6 South Boston

On February 28, 2006 at about 1:30 p.m., State Police arrested a man on Route 93 South in Braintree for unlawful possession of a firearm.

Trooper Sean Newman and Trooper Hollis Crowley of the State Police Barracks in South Boston were on patrol on Route 93 South in Braintree. During their patrol, they observed a 1990 Honda Accord traveling southbound in the area of Route 28 with a failed inspection sticker and a broken tail light. As part of their subsequent investigation, they had contact with a passenger in the vehicle, 20-year-old male from Mattapan. The subject was found to be in possession of a loaded .38 caliber revolver. He was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

The subject was transported to the State Police Barracks in South Boston for booking. He was held at the barracks pending bail and will be arraigned at Quincy District Court.
