On Saturday, April 29, 2006, Roxbury Community College, the Governor's Highway Safety Bureau, the Massachusetts State Police, the Boston Police Department, the Massachusetts Minority State Police Officers Association and the Massachusetts Association of Minority Law Enforcement Officers hosted a Child Passenger Safety Seat Installation Checkpoint at Roxbury Community College. There was a significant number of child passenger safety seat installers at the event. Along with installing child safety seats, the technicians educated parents/caretakers on a variety of important subjects such as proper child safety seat installation techniques, best practices for child safety seat placement within a vehicle, and the importance of safety belt use for vehicle occupants of all ages.
