On Saturday May 12, 2007, members of the Boston Press Photographers Association Inc. presented Lt. Paul Maloney of the Massachusetts State Police with the Fiftieth Annual Bob Howard Good Fellowship Award . The award ceremony was held at Boston University and Lt. Colonel Robert G. Smith was in attendance.
This award is presented every year to an outstanding person who has gone out of his or her way to help the working news photographers cover assignments. Lt. Maloney is following some very notable past recipients, including Colonel John Blake Ret. of the Massachusetts State Police, Governor Michael Dukakis, Mayor Ray Flynn, Judge Elijah Adlow and Senator Paul Tsongas.
For the past three years, Lt. Maloney has served as the Station Commander of H-1 Government Center, where he has developed an excellent relationship with the photographic news media who work in and around the State House. "The photographic media respect Lt. Maloney and they do what is asked of them knowing that he is always trying to help where he can," stated Bob Howard of the Boston Press Photographers Association Inc.
