Sergeant Lisa Butner receives Acker Memorial Award

On May 16, 2007 The Northeast Chapter of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators held its annual awards banquet. Sergeant Lisa Butner of the Governor's Auto Theft Strike Force Unit and Lynn Police Detective Thomas Mulvey received The George J. Acker Memorial Award for their outstanding efforts and work in auto theft investigations. An example of their diligence included a case, resulting in the recovery of a substantial number of stolen motor vehicles obtained through the use of fraudulent Registry of Motor Vehicle Documents.

The George J. Acker award established in 1999, in memory of New York State Police Member George Acker recognizes members of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators who display outstanding excellence in the field of auto theft, fraud prevention, detection or investigations, particularly in the area relating to Registry Documentation.
