On Friday March 14, 2008, Colonel Mark Delaney, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police, met with Commissioner Fachtna Murphy and Chief Inspector Kathleen O'Toole of the Garda Siochana during a visit to State Police General Headquarters.

The Garda Siochana is Ireland's National Police Force which Murphy has served as Commissioner since 2007. Kathleen O'Toole currently serves as the Chief Inspector of the Garda Inspectorate but was formerly a Lieutenant Colonel on the Massachusetts State Police from 1992 to 1994.

During their visit, Murphy and O'Toole toured the grounds, viewed the State Police Breath Alcohol Testing Mobile and the State Police Command Post. Members of the State Police Air Wing also displayed one of the State Police Helicopters.
