
On May 22, 2009, the Ararat Street Bridge over Route 190 in Worcester was dedicated to Trooper Paul F. Barry and named the State Trooper Paul F. Barry Memorial Bridge. Trooper Paul F. Barry, was a six-year veteran of the State Police, who died in a cruiser crash on June 15th 2006 while on duty, at the age of 39.
The ceremony was attended by Trooper Barry's 75th Recruit Training Troop classmates, state and local politicians, and members of the command staff, Colonel Mark F. Delaney as well as retired Colonels Thomas J. Foley and Charles F. Henderson. Paul's seven children and his wife and family members also attended the event.

Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray stated thanked the Barry Family for Paul's service, and stated "He patrolled Central Mass highways, and because of that, our families were safer." State Police Major John V. Dunn said the bridge was dedicated to Trooper Barry because of his devotion to his work and family.
