Colonel Marian J. McGovern addressed the National Asian Peace Officers' Association 23rd annual national training conference on Aug. 9 at the Hyatt Regency Boston. The theme of this year's conference was "United We Stand," reflecting the need to confront the challenges of the 21st century in partnership between law enforcement agencies and the citizens they serve. Trooper James Connor, above, sang the National Anthem.
The National Asian Peace Officers' Association (NAPOA) was established in San Francisco to further self-empowerment, networking opportunities and relationships among Asian Pacific American law enforcement officers throughout the United States. The training conference provides a forum to facilitate the exchange of ideas, philosophies, procedures, policies, tactics and strategies to enhance the delivery of quality police services.
