State Police Investigate Crash on Arborway in Boston

On October 22, 2006, at about 2:35 a.m., State Police from the Milton Barracks responded to a three-car crash on the Arborway North, at St. Joseph Street, in Boston.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Gregory Jasinkas indicates that there was a collision between a 1998 Toyota Corolla operated by 22-year-old female, a 2001 Mazda 626 operated by 36-year-old Zinah Abukhalil of Cambridge, and a 2006 Volkswagen operated by a 19-year-old female. Two of the vehicles rolled over as a result of the crash.

The driver of the Toyota was transported by ambulance to Brigham and Women's Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Volkswagen was transported by ambulance to Beth Israel Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Abukhalil was uninjured in the crash.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.

The Arborway was closed in both directions for about 1 and ½ hours.

The identities of two of the drivers are being withheld pending family notification. No further information is available at this time. Please do not contact the barracks.
