State Police Investigate Jogger Assault in Boston

On October 22, 2006, shortly after noon, State Police from the Brighton Barracks responded to a report of an assault of a female on a pedestrian path that runs adjacent to Beacon Street, near Chestnut Hill Drive, in Boston.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Richard McCarron indicates that a 19-year-old female was jogging on a pedestrian path at about 12:15 p.m., when she was sexually assaulted (unwanted sexual groping) by a man on a mountain bike. The man then fled the area on his bike up Chestnut Hill Drive. The female was uninjured.

The assailant was described as a white male with a pale complexion, clean shaven, average build, approximately 5'9" to 5'10", wearing olive green cargo pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, a navy knit hat, and sunglasses. The man reportedly had dark hair protruding from under the hat. He was riding an "older looking" mountain bike.
