State Police Investigate Route 495 Boxborough Crash

On October 22, 2006, at about 8:30 a.m., State Police from the Concord Barracks responded to a one-car crash on Route 495 North, about 1 mile south of Route 2, in Boxborough.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Matthew Hannigan indicates that a man was traveling on Route 495 North in a 2006 Nissan Altima when his vehicle drifted from the right travel lane, across all lanes to the left, before entering the median and striking a tree.

The driver and sole occupant was airlifted to Beth Israel Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. State Police Crime Scene Services, Boxborough Police, Fire and EMS, Littleton Police, Fire and EMS, and Mass Highway all assisted at the scene.

The identity of the driver is being withheld pending family notification.
