State Police Respond to Two-Vehicle Crash on Soldiers Field Road in Brighton

Today at 12:50 p.m., State Police from the Brighton Barracks responded to a crash on Soldiers Field Road westbound prior to North Harvard Street in Brighton.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Richard McCarron, indicates that the traffic traveling westbound on Soldiers Field road was slowing to a stop. 57 near-old Jean Hogan, from Boston, operating a 2005 Saab 95 sedan was also slowing due to the traffic backup. Hogan was struck from behind by a 2007 Honda Pilot, operated by 23 year-old Kevin Im, from Arlington. After the collision, the Honda swerved off the roadway to the right and into the Charles River. Several people went into the water to assist Im out of the vehicle. These good Samaritans were also assisted by Boston and Cambridge Police upon their arrival. Both Hogan and Im were transported to Brigham Woman Hospital with minor injuries.

The right and middle lanes of Soldiers Field Road were closed for about one hour. The cause of this crash remains under investigation. Please do not contact the barracks.
