Preliminary investigation by Sergeant Stephen Viola indicates that Trooper Shawn McIntyre attempted to stop a 1999 Lexus ES300 on Route 16 in Revere because he believed the driver was operating on a suspended license and had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. As a result of the collision, the suspect vehicle rolled over in the roadway.
The suspect driver, 32-year-old Kevin Kilgallen of Peabody, was placed under arrest for: Failing to Stop for a Police Officer, Operating After Suspension, and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Additionally, Kilgallen had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was transported to Whidden Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
