State Police Respond to Route 1 Lynnfield Crash

On September 26, 2006 at about 2:45 p.m., State Police from the Danvers Barracks responded to a three-vehicle crash on Route 1 North, about ΒΌ mile south of Route 129, in Lynnfield.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper William McSweeney indicates that 37-year-old Henry Roberson of Lynn was traveling on Route 1 North in a 1994 Ford Crown Victoria when his vehicle rear ended a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe, which was in the right travel lane. Roberson's vehicle then traveled up the back of a tractor-trailer car carrier that was in the processes of turning right, into the parking lot of a car dealership on that road. The Ford traveled up the back of the car carrier and then off the left side before coming to rest in the right travel lane.

Roberson was transported by ambulance to Union Hospital in Lynn for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the Tahoe, 64-year-old William Katsapetses of Danvers, was transported by ambulance to North Shore Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 31-year-old Shawn Dunbar of Middleboro, was uninjured in the crash.

This crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time. Lynnfield Police, Fire and EMS all assisted at the scene.

The right travel lane on Route 1 North was closed for about 40 minutes.

This is all the information that is currently available. Please do not contact the barracks.
