State Police Respond to Route 93 Methuen Crash

On September 29, 2006 at about 5:40 p.m., State Police from the Andover Barracks responded to a three-car crash on Route 93 North, just prior to exit 47, in Methuen.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper David Walsh indicates that 28-year-old Joshua Pounder of Sandown, NH, was traveling on Route 93 North in the left lane when he rear-ended a 2000 Ford Ranger operated by 47-year-old Thomas Campbell of Salem, NH, who was stopped due to heavy traffic. That collision forced Campbell into a rear-end collision with a 2000 Dodge Stratus operated by 41-year-old Jennifer North of Boston, who was positioned directly in front of the Ford in the left travel lane.

Campbell was transported by ambulance to Holy Family Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Neither Pounder nor North were injured in this crash.

Pounder was issued a citation for failing to use care in stopping. Methuen Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.

The left lane of Route 93 North was closed for about 20 minutes.
