State Police Respond to Fatal Crash on Route 95 North in North Attleboro
The preliminary investigation by Trooper Michael Lynch indicates the following: The male driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Van, 22 year-old Christopher R. Cartier of Cumberland, RI, was traveling north in the right travel lane on Route 95, north of Route 152 in North Attleboro when he struck the rear of a 1987 Jeep Utility also traveling in the right travel lane. The operator of the Jeep, 59 year-old Carl L. Crowe of Johnston, RI, sustained serious injuries from the crash. Crowe was transported by ambulance to Sturdy Hospital where he was later declared deceased.
Members of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, the Massachusetts Highway Department, and the North Attleboro Fire Department and EMS assisted troopers at the scene. The right travel lane of Route 95 North near the crash scene was closed throughout the crash investigation.
