State Police Arrest One Person and Make Large Narcotics Seizure

Today at about 11:35 a.m. a trooper assigned to the State Police Barracks in Sturbridge stopped a 1997 Ford Expedition on Route 84 East in Sturbridge for missing front license plate. This motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of the Ford's driver, Narciso Duarte, age 26 of 176 Albee Street in Fitchburg and the seizure of approximately 36 kilograms of a substance believed to be cocaine.

Narciso Duarte was arrested, transported to the State Police Barracks in Sturbridge for booking and charged with improper display of a number plate and trafficking in a class B controlled substance. Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Sturbridge seized approximately thirty-six kilograms of a substance believed to be cocaine during the course of this investigation. Narciso Duarte is currently being held at the Sturbridge barracks on $500,000 cash bail. He will be arraigned in Dudley District Court on Monday.
