State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 95 in Attleboro

Today, at approximately 5:47 a.m. troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Foxboro responded to a one-vehicle crash on Route 95 South north of Route 1 (exit 2) in Attleboro that resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Stephen J. Kavol indicates that a 17-year-old juvenile male was operating a 1998 Acura Integra on Route 95 South in the left lane when he lost control of the vehicle. The Acura collided into the median guardrail and rolled over. The juvenile operator was not wearing a safetybelt and at some point during the crash he was ejected from the vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Attleboro Police Department, the Attleboro Fire Department and Mass Highway assisted troopers at the scene.

Due to the investigation and vehicle recovery all three lanes of Route 95 South are closed, but traffic is presently being diverted through the Attleboro Weight Station and around the crash scene.

No further information is available at this time. Please do not call the barracks directly.
