STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE TRUCK CRASH ON ROUTE 395 RAMP IN AUBURN

Today at 9:53 a.m, the State Police in Sturbridge received a report of a tractor trailer crash on the ramp which comes from Route 20 westbound and the Massachusetts Turnpike to Route 395 South in Auburn resulting in one minor injury.

The tractor-trailer,operated by Gerald Lee Pierdolla, 39 years old, of Quinlan Texas, rolled over onto it's left side on the busy ramp, causing the ramp to be closed since approximately 10:00a.m. this morning. Preliminary investigation indicates that speed and a shifting of the load caused the tractor trailer to roll over. The trailer, which was loaded with coiled sheet metal has to be off-loaded before it can be righted. It is expected to take until at least 4:30 p.m. to complete the off-loading and righting of the vehicle.

The operator was taken to University Of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester with minor injuries. He will be charged with Speeding, and the owner of the "T-T unit" will be charged with Failure to Properly Secure a Load. The ramp is expected to be open between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m.
