State Police Investigate Serious Crash on Route 93 North in Braintree

Today, at approximately 2:20 p.m. troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Milton responded to a one-vehicle crash on Route 93 North prior to Granite Street (exit 6) in Braintree that resulted in one serious injury.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper William McPhee indicates 41-year-old Joseph Tracey of Holbrook was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Route 93 North in the left lane when he lost control. The motorcycle went down in the left lane and continued into the median where it came to rest. Tracey sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Boston Medical Center by ambulance.

This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The Braintree Fire Department, the Randolph Fire Department and Mass Highway assisted troopers at the scene.

Due to the investigation and vehicle recovery the left two lanes of Rte 93 North were closed for approximately 2 hours.
