State Police Investigate Sexual Assault and Robbery on Charles River Esplanade in Boston

Today at approximately 4:00 a.m., Troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Boston responded to a report received by the Boston Police Department of a sexual assault and robbery of a female occurring on the Charles River Esplanade in Boston.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Kevin Murray of the Boston Barracks, indicates that today at approximately 4:00 a.m., an adult female was walking in the area of Beacon Street and Hereford Street in the Back Bay area of Boston when she was approached by a black male who abducted her at knife point, forcing her to walk over the Hereford Street Footbridge to the Charles River Esplanade where he robbed and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as a large adult black male with a muscular build and shaved bald head. The suspect was wearing dark colored jeans and a white tank top.

The State Police and Boston Police are cooperating in this investigation. Anyone with information relative to this incident are asked to call the Massachusetts State Police Boston Barracks at 617-727-6780.
